🔷 Autonomy is the ability of a person to act on their own free will. When a child has autonomy, even in small ways, it helps build confidence, self-esteem and independence.

~Respecting autonomy DOES NOT mean you have to negotiate everything you say.

~Respecting autonomy DOES mean you should offer realistic choices.

☀️ Support their choices without manipulating for your own convenience.

☀️Have a discussion because their opinion doesn’t have to be agreeable to be relevant.

🔷 Boundaries are physical or emotional limits set to protect a person's personal or mental space.

~Boundaries ARE NOT about endless lists of rules or regulations.

~Boundaries ARE about teaching children a better way of doing things.

☀️Let them know was is or isn’t acceptable.

☀️Take a second to communicate clearly.

☀️ Mean what you say.
